The Solano Land Trust is holding a Heritage Feast Event at Rush Ranch, Suisun, September 25, 2010 at 5pm. Chair Carol Berman is going all out to create an ambiance for the event. Picture it: Step through a golden path of luminescent lanterns on hay bales as you enter the tent and Nature Center where the colors of fall hang from banners. Aromatic herb plants, magnolia garlands, wreaths, and fall flowers bring nature in, while sepia-toned photographs of Rush Ranch on each table honor the ranch. Sue Johnson of Sue Johnson Custom Lamps & Shades has created a 30-inch mica shade depicting scenes from Lee Wilder-Snider’s Rush Ranch mural that will enrich the tent lighting.
This promises to be an unforgettable event with Solano County-sourced food prepared by Manny Rodriquez who has been brought back by popular demand after serving his exquisite food at the 2007 Rush Ranch Heritage Feast.
The feast will include:
- Scrumptious locally sourced appetizers, dinner and dessert featuring local lamb, field greens, summer squash, vine-ripened tomatoes, Dixon Ridge walnuts, autumn apples, and more!
- Solano County wines from Jess Jones Vineyard, Ledgewood Creek Winery, Purple Pearl Vineyards, Vezer Family Vineyard, Wooden Valley Winery, and Winterhawk Winery.
- Live and silent auctions featuring many area artists including Miro Salazar, Deanna Forbes, Phillip Glashoff, Susan Schneider, Michael Nourot and David Lindsay
- Entertainment including wagon rides with Access Adventure, historical display, and music
Raffle for a fully stocked 30-bottle wine refrigerator
Tickets ($70) are selling out. For ages 21 and over only – get them before they are gone at http://heritagefeast.org.
This will be an elegant, tented, white tablecloth event, but dress for dinner on the ranch!
