Dog lovers will bring out their furry friends Saturday, July 8, 2017, 10am-3pm, in Benicia to honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to loved ones lost and remember those who are still fighting. An event that encourages everyone to attend, dog owner or not, the American Cancer Society’s Bark for Life is a non-competitive fundraising walk and a day of contests, games and activities, in addition to an opportunity to adopt a dog. The 2017 event lineup includes police dog demonstrations, disc dog competition and cutest/ugliest/lookalike owner/dog contests. For those with room in their homes and hearts, dogs will be available for adoption. The event will help raise money and awareness to help fund cancer research.

The program will feature dogs large and small, from Great Dane guard dogs to little Chihuahua lap dogs, as well as dog owners, volunteers, families, individuals, teams, and American Cancer Society representatives. It will take place at the Benicia First Street Green, 100 First Street.
