Who puts them on the Art Walks? Benicia Main Street, led by Executive Director Nancy Martinez
What is it? A Downtown Benicia wine-tasting event, where participating merchants pour wine inside their shops for ticketholders. Most merchants also serve nibbles.
Where are they? On First Street, from K Street to the waterfront.
How many are there each year? Four: Wine & Chocolate Walk (February), Spring Wine Walk (June), Fall Wine Walk (September), Wine Walk & Shop Small (November).
Average Number of Participating businesses: Up to 22 businesses pour wine inside their shops.
How much wine is poured during the event? Over 250 bottles, procured from Benicia’s Henry Wine Group
How many different types of wine are served? Three: red, white and sparkling, that come from local to international wineries.
How many volunteers help with the event? Ten.
How many people attend the wine walks? An average of 300 tickets are sold for each of the four events.
