Looking for some good Halloween family fun for kids of all ages? Starting right here in town, Benicia Main Street puts on a number of interesting Halloween offerings. Check out the annual event Sorcerer Saturday, with a variety of activities for kids and adults including a pumpkin patch just outside the Depot at the foot of First Street, October 15, 12-5pm. Or, try a corn maze. Corn mazes date back 4,000 years, used for rituals and processions. They continued to appear over the millennia in art, gardens and architecture. In Scandinavia, over 600 stone labyrinths lined the shores of the Baltic Sea, with over half of them in Sweden. Throughout Europe garden mazes were developed at the wealthiest castles and palaces to amuse kings and princes. Amuse the little ones or challenge the adults at one of the following pumpkin patches or corn mazes, all within an hour and a half.
