The Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra & Chorus is presenting Carl Orff’s hugely popular cantata, Carmina Burana, in its entirety, for a special afternoon at the historic Benicia Clock Tower on Mother’s Day, May 12, 4pm.
GGSO&C was founded by conductor and educator Urs Leonhardt Steiner and is entering its third decade of presenting quality performances and music education in the Bay Area. Maestro Steiner wanted to make classical music accessible to all and to provide education as well as professional performances at a community level. He does this by producing live musical programs through an ensemble orchestra and choral group and presenting them throughout the Bay Area.
The Benicia chapter of Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will be joined by the rest of the company on Mother’s Day, May 12, at the Clock Tower at 4pm to perform Carmina Burana. Tickets can be purchased at the following locations: Mozart, Einstein & Me, Benicia Main Street, Bookshop Benicia. Purchase tickets on line at Cityboxoffice.com
