Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn. Crown, $25.00. A can't-put-down suspense novel of a marriage gone terribly wrong. Just when you think you've figured it out, the author flips the story again. Fantastic!

Art Of Fielding, by Chad Harbach. Hachette, $14.99.  Baseball, friendship, romance—what’s not to love about this poignant, brilliant novel?

Beautiful Ruins, by Jess Walter.  Harper, $25.99.  A marvelous whirlpool of a novel with bits and pieces coming from all over that somehow all tie back to the filming of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's Cleopatra. Funny and very clever.

Weird Sisters, by Eleanor Brown. Penguin, $15.00.  Three sisters in an eccentric family who love each other deeply, but that doesn't mean they like each other! Lovingly told, great read.

In the Garden Beasts, by Erik Larson. Broadway, $16.00.  True account of William Dodd and his family. Dodd became ambassador to Germany in 1933 just as Hitler rose to power and he and his family slowly came to realize the horror that was about to be unleashed on the world. An amazing look back at that time—full of detail.
