You had a successful Mother’s Day. The appreciation holidays are not over yet. Father’s Day is coming. Just in case you forgot, it’s June 21st. It’s ok, I had to Google it too.

Now that we’re all informed what day it is, let’s break out the #1 Dad mugs and get to thinking!

We all know that most dads always appreciate that medieval themed spatula for the grill and the shiny red toolbox. He has all these things. It’s not his first rodeo. Get him something he can enjoy in the garage on a hot summer day or something that can be enjoyed as a nightcap. We’re in the Bay Area, the mecca of craft beers and distilled goodness.

A local spot very familiar to local dads is Mare Island Brewing Co. They offer “beefy” growlers and 16oz cans for to-go sipping. Picking up a Nuclear Sandwich Double IPA to pair with their M.I.B.C Burger (Grain-fed, Chef’s blend 100% Beef, Aged White Cheddar, Balsamic Glazed Onions, Secret Sauce and Arugula on a Sciambria Bun, served with a side of Fries.)-MareIslandCo.com) makes for a perfect meal fit for a protective, hardworking dad. Pick-up available at the Ferry Building in Vallejo. https://www.mareislandbrewingco.com/covid19

If you’re looking for something on the smoother side. My personal local favorite is Savage & Cooke Distillery. If you’re looking for a great bottle of bourbon, The Burning Chair is an exceptional choice for the sophisticated father. Warm brown sugar aromatics with a strong finish of oak, baking spices and baked apples. Not too hard on the budget, but hard on the alcohol. It’s 88-proof and can be found at Raleys, Whole foods or, specifically, the Glen Cove Safeway.

As always we hope this was helpful. We’re sure dads wouldn’t mind flowers for a change.

Happy Father’s day!
