The Marilyn Citron O’Rourke Art Gallery at the Benicia Public Library is pleased to present “All Waters: Ocean, Shore, Pool”, an exhibition of oil paintings by Claudia Waters. The works included in the exhibit feature a wide range of large- and medium-scale watery images of figures in the pool, in the ocean, and at the shore. Waters explores the interplay between representational and abstract elements creating a visual lexicon communicated through color and form. The paintings evoke moments of perceived inner consciousness to emote ephemeral states of being. A highlight of this figurative show of mostly people in the water are the shorebird paintings which reflect the artist’s love and appreciation of birds and the natural world.
There will be a reception for the artist on July 8 from 3 to 5p.m., to which the public is invited.
