An Author Talk at Bookshop Benicia

June 13 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Every reader has the chance to spend an evening with two excellent writers. Bookshop Benicia will be hosting an author talk featuring David Corbett, The Truth Against the World, and Joe Clifford, Say My Name, on June 13, 2023. Free and open to all.

Corbett, a former Vallejo resident who now resides on the east coast, was a well known member of the North Bay community. Not just a phenomenal author and teacher, Corbett also ran Bookshop Benicia’s High Crimes Book Group for an extended time. His latest release (“The Truth Against the World,” coming June 1st), follows an artist trying to rescue her masterpiece as the United States descends into a civil war. This speculative novel ponders intellectual property and conflicting social factors as the artist tries to navigate unrest while she rescues her work from a thief.

Clifford’s true crime mystery (“Say My Name,” releasing June 6th) tells the tale of a writer who, upon returning to his hometown, becomes entangled in an unsolved missing case from his adolescence. As the case unfolds, secrets about the town and its inhabitants are revealed. Are the missing persons victims of a crime, an accident, or something else entirely? Clifford, an author of numerous well-received novels, grew up in San Francisco and has returned to the Bay Area, teaching at the Florida International University remotely while he writes.

Bookshop Benicia could not be more excited to host these great authors. For more information on the books and their writers, please visit davidcorbett.com and joeclifford.com. If you have any questions, contact Christine or Alexa at Bookshop Benicia, Tuesdays through Sundays, by calling (707)747-5155 or check out our website bookshopbenicia.com. No cost of attendance.
