Benicia Library is Busy!

Creating and hosting a plethora of activities, a visit to our library is fun and fulfilling

Did you know that Benicia Library is open seven days a week, and includes an art gallery with rotating exhibits, a Literacy Program, and a Friends of the Library group as well as diverse volunteer opportunities? There’s so much going on every single day that it hard to keep up. The library has classes, story time, computer lab, video game afternoon, conversation group, poetry group, kids book club … and that’s just in one week.

You have likely seen the construction going on around the library. That’s because the Library’s leaky roof is being replaced with a copper one which was part of the original plans when the library was built 26 years ago. The skylights will also be replaced during the process. When finished, the library will truly shine like the jewel it is.

The library provides a wide range of materials in all formats—books, movies, music, audiobooks, and a wide range of electronic books and research resources. Patrons can access the Library catalog and their own account information 24 hours a day.

Whether you are a Benicia native or a new resident, take some time to visit our Library. You will find an excellent staff dedicated to making your experience a great one.
