As yesterday’s superheroes enjoy a resurgence in popular culture, they have found a home in Benicia at Zeppelin Comics, a new store in the downtown area. The store offers public events, in conjunction with the Benicia Library, and is bringing kids and adults together to meet likeminded superhero fans.

New Center Opens For Teens

A new teen center opened in late January to serve Benicia’s youth. Founded by Barbara Gervase, who lost her son to suicide when he was a high school student, the center offers teens a hangout space to socialize or access resources if they are troubled or feel alone. It features a lounge area with large, comfortable sofas, a large screen for movies, a cafe eating area, games, ping pong and more.

Transportation Hub Offers Commuters Additional Options

Benicia’s new transit hub will provide more options for commuters going to and getting to from Contra Costa County. Located in the Benicia Business Park, it will provide parking for 50 vehicles and allow big trucks to more easily park near the food truck, which will remain on the property.
